Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Shakil A. Khan, who serves patients in Birmingham, Alabama.

Recognized by patients and colleagues for his brilliance, humility and compassion, Dr. Khan continues to nurture and heal patients with the gold standard of care as a child and adolescent psychiatrist. He served as the Medical Director at Hill Crest Behavioral Health Services from August of 1997 until November of 2020. In 1992, Dr. Khan graduated with his medical degree from the AUC School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1995 at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. For his specialty, Dr. Khan chose to serve at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, also in New York City, as a fellow in child and adolescent psychiatry until 1997. He trained with renowned clinicians Dr. Peter Weiden at Columbia and Dr. Jefferey Newcorn at Mt. Sinai.
